Frequently asked questions
Got questions? We've got answers. Below you'll find everything you need to know about our services, studio policies, and what to expect at The Movement Collective. Since we offer both physiotherapy and Pilates, we've split our FAQs into two sections so you can find what's relevant to you — fast. Can't find what you're looking for? Just get in touch. We're always happy to hear from you.
Where are you located?
TMC is located inside the ActivityPlex at 150 Dunkirk Road, St. Catharines. We are down the hall to the left from the front entrance or the first door on your left when entering the side door. There is plenty of parking around the building for you during your appointment or class.
I'm brand new - where do i start?
Welcome! We know it can be hard to know where to begin. Reach out to us with any questions and we'll help point you in the right direction.
how early should i be for my first appointment?
We recommend you be five minutes early for your physiotherapy appointments. For Pilates, please arrive 10 minutes early to your first class if you would like a small tour of the studio.
What do i wear
For physiotherapy, we suggest you wear clothing you are comfortable in with access to your injury.
For Pilates, we suggest you wear athletic clothing you are comfortable sweating in. Grip socks are required for all reformer classes. No shoes are needed.
do i need to bring anything
Just yourself! If you have imaging for physiotherapy, you can bring that. For Pilates, bring yourself, some water and good vibes!
is there wheelchair accessibility?
The entire building is wheelchair accessible. If you have any troubles getting around, please let us know and we would be happy to address your concerns with the landlord.
are there change rooms or showers?
We do offer change rooms for both physiotherapy and Pilates. You are encouraged to leave your belongings in the change room while in class. We unfortunately do not have showers available at this time.
can I bring my kid?
You're welcome to bring your little ones along to physiotherapy appointments. For Pilates, we ask that children don't attend — our studio space is small and we want to make sure everyone can focus and move safely. We recommend arranging childcare ahead of your Pilates session or class.
what are your hours?
Our hours vary between physiotherapy, private/rehab and Pilates classes— the easiest way to check availability is to book online through our booking system, where you can see all available times in real time.
how do i contact you?
You can contact us via text, email or a phone call. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
do you offer gift cards?
Yes! Gift cards are available for all of our services — whether you want to treat someone to a Pilates class. Ask at reception or get in touch to organize one.
Whats the difference between physio and Pilates?
A physiotherapy appointment is a one-on-one consultation focused on assessing, diagnosing, and treating injury or pain. Your physio will use hands-on manual therapy and may also give you a personalized home exercise program to support your recovery.
Pilates classes focus on movement, strength, and control. We offer both group classes and one-on-one sessions, guided by a qualified instructor. Many of our clients do both — Pilates is a great complement to physio treatment, and your physio can refer you directly into classes when the time is right.
