Reformer Pilates Class

What to expect for your first class

Mindful Movement

Please arrive about 10 minutes early so you can get settled and meet your instructor. Wear comfortable, fitted activewear. Grip socks are required for reformer classes only (available for purchase at the studio). Bring a water bottle and a towel if you like. Our classes are small, with a maximum of 8 clients in reformer and 12 in mat, so your instructor can offer personal cues and modifications throughout. If you have any injuries, are pregnant, or have any concerns, let your instructor know before class begins. No experience is needed for our Grounded classes. We’ll walk you through the equipment and the basics so you feel confident from your first class at The Movement Collective.

class policies

class bookings

All classes must be booked in advance, and cancellations must be made at least 6 hours before the class start time. Late cancellations and no-shows may be subject to our late cancellation policy. To help us plan the week ahead, we encourage you to pre-book your class spots. By the end of every Monday, any classes for that week with zero registrations are at risk of being removed from the schedule, so booking early helps keep your favourite classes running!

class prerequisites

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, new clients are required to complete 3 Grounded Reformer classes before moving on to our other reformer classes, and 1 Grounded Mat class before joining any of our other mat classes. These foundational classes will help you learn proper form, alignment, and equipment set-up. If you’re an experienced client and believe you may be able to skip these requirements, please email us and we’ll be happy to chat about your background and get you in the right class!
